  • What is Reformer Pilates?
    The Reformer is a bed-like frame with a sliding carriage, springs, pulleys, and ropes. During a Reformer Pilates session, you perform a series of controlled movements whilst lying, sitting, or standing on the carriage. The springs are weighted, and provide resistance to help build strength and improve flexibility. Depending on class type, you can expect to use the box, pilates ring, pilates ball, ankle weights & jumpboard.

  • What Reformers do you have at Cove?
    At Cove, we have four Allegro 2's from Balanced Body. These are the very best beds on the market.
  • Why are the springs different colours?
    The springs are different colours because they are different level of resistances. There are a total of 5 springs. 1 Yellow, 1 Blue, 3 Red. Yellow (very light resistance) Blue (light resistance) Red (medium resistance)
  • What are the safety pre-cautions in your studio?
    At the end of class, we will provide you with a eco-friendly, biodegradable, skin safe single use wipe. Wipe down your bed and equipment after you've finished to ensure it's sanitised ready for the next class. We clean the studio everyday and deep clean the studio a couple of times a week. We perform maintenance checks on the beds weekly, especially checking the springs for damage.
  • How do I book a class?
    Once on the website, click 'Book now'. This will take you to the calendar where you can then click on the day you would like to book a class for. You will then be shown all the class time slots, class type, who the instructor is, the price, and class duration. Once you have decided, click 'Book now' and follow the instructions for payment.
  • How long are classes?
    All classes at Cove are 50 minutes.
  • How many classes should I take a week?
    At Cove, we recommend 2-3 classes a week to see results. However, it depends on your own personal goals and fitness levels, once a week would be sufficient. We guarantee you will feel the burn and become addicted!
  • How many class types do you offer?
    At Cove, we have 6 different class types. Fresh (Level 1) Flow (Level 2) Focus (Level 3) Form (Pre & post-natal) Flex (Men only) Finesse (Private)
  • How far in advance can I book?
    You can book up to 2 months in advance.
  • Can I join a waiting list?
    Yes, you can. We understand that we are a small studio and classes might get booked up quickly. However, we operate a waitlist system for each class and once you’ve added your name you will be automatically emailed as soon as a space becomes available.
  • What if I need to cancel?
    You can cancel a class up to 24 hours beforehand without being charged. Please cancel via your member area. Any cancellations made after the 24 hours, you will be charged the full amount.
  • Is Reformer Pilates for men?
    Yes! Did you know the Pilates method of training was originally developed by a man, predominantly for men? Whilst all of our classes are inclusive and open to all, we offer a specific number of 'Men only' classes a week to break stereotypes. Our Flex classes are specifically engineered to benefit men and the male form, these classes will work your muscles — and your mind. A dedicated instructor will help you to improve strength, flexibility and posture, giving a full-body workout. The other added benefits are injury prevention and stress relief.
  • Do you offer private classes?
    Yes! If you're looking for a more personalised 1:1 Reformer Pilates experience with a dedicated instructor, Cove's Finesse classes are for you. Our Finesse classes allow our instructor to explore your specific needs and goals. Whether you are a complete beginner wanting to learn the basics or whether you’re more advanced, wanting to get more out of your class. ​ Finesse classes are also perfect for rehabilitation and pregnancy.   • I am pregnant and/or recently pregnant, can I do Reformer Pilates?
    Yes! Our Form class is perfect for you as it is specifically programmed to support you through all stages whether that's Pre/Post-natal. Join our expertly trained instructors in a safe and nurturing environment whilst you will move through a series of low impact and effective exercises. Classes are tailored, comprehensive and above all safe. Our instructors will help you feel strong and confident in your body, improve posture, understand your core & pelvic floor. No Reformer Pilates experience necessary. We request that you get approval from your GP/Midwife before attending our Form class.
  • How can I order a Gift Card?
    You can buy someone a digital gift card via our website, you can select the date you want them to receive it along with a personalised message. They will receive an email with a code in order to redeem on our bookings page.
  • How to I redeem my gift card?
    You can redeem your gift card when booking classes, on the checkout page there is an option to 'redeem a gift card'. Unfortunately, gift cards are only available to redeem against our booking page and are not able to be used on packages.
  • Can I bring my baby to Form classes?
    Yes, as long as they are not crawling/walking. Please leave them in the pram or car seat carrier, if they cry then you are of course able to soothe them at anytime! Our instructors understand, and are on hand to help as well.
  • Where is the studio located?
    Cove Reformer Studio is located at 2 Denmans Lane, Lindfield, RH16 2LB.
  • Where can I park?
    Denmans Lane car park (opposite studio) Tollgate car park (3 min walk) Wilderness car park (8 min walk)
  • What should I wear?
    Wear anything you are comfortable in. Avoid loose clothing as it could get caught in the Reformer, and anything with zips as it could damage the material on the carriage. You must wear grippy socks, which we sell in the studio for £15.
  • Do I need to bring anything with me?
    You must wear grippy socks to all classes at Cove. These are available to purchase for £15 at the studio. These are our own brand of socks. Please bring a bottle of water to keep you hydrated throughout your class.
  • What should I do when I arrive?
    Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your class to ensure you are on time. Wait in the hallway, please be considerate that a teacher will be teaching the class before. Please do not look through the glass door whilst you wait, as this may distract the teacher. Once the instructor has welcomed you in, please put your belongings in the customer area. There are coat hooks, and a bench to sit on whilst you take your shoes off. Under the bench there is storage to put your shoes into.
  • Can I take pictures or film in the studio?
    All customers sign a waiver which means our instructors can take photos and/or film during class. Please note, if you want to film or take photos, please ensure it's of yourself, and let others around you know. We have a tripod and ring light if you need to film, just ask our instructors. Any photos or videos you take, please do tag us on social media if you post.
